How I benefited from coaching when I needed it the most
I was a popular mentor in my company—colleagues recommended me or naturally came to me when they felt stuck. I realized that my multicultural background from across five countries (French and German-speaking Switzerland, France, Sweden, Belgium, and the US) gave me a unique perspective. Navigating different environments, languages, and expectations helped me understand people deeply and support them through challenges.
But then, I hit a wall—not just in mentoring others, but in my own life. I felt lost and drained of energy and direction. I had no clarity on what I wanted to do or how to move forward. How could I truly support others when I couldn’t help myself?
At first, I thought I could figure it out on my own—I had made it this far by myself, hadn’t I? But in my frustration, I decided to try something different and turned to coaching. And that’s when everything changed. Coaching helped me see that I wasn’t missing external answers— it gave me the right tools to shift my perspective, unlock my own insights, and reconnect with what truly drives me. I no longer relied on expertise but on my ability to truly listen and ask the right questions to help my clients find their own solutions.
For the first time in a long while, I felt like I had a strong structure to support me, tools to manage my energy, and how to adapt to life's twists and turns with clarity and confidence. Now, I help my clients feel and do the same.
